Murshid Samuel Lewis is one of Shahabuddin’s influential teachers. Shahabuddin has danced and walked with Murshid SAM and been deeply influenced by his teachings. During this day Shahabuddin will share some of Murshid SAM’s teachings on peace; we will be attuning to Murshid SAM, accessing the impulse and wisdom behind his Dances and Walks, and increasing our understanding of why they are so relevant to us at this time.

So the first thing I ask you to do is don’t believe me. Believe your own being when you get up and walk and chant and dance.  Murshid Samuel Lewis

Shahabuddin David Less is a greatly loved Senior Mentor in the Dances of Universal Peace Mentor Teachers Guild and a highly esteemed Senior Teacher in The Inayati Order. He has travelled the path of universal mysticism for 50 years, receiving mystical training from some of the great spiritual teachers of the 20th century. Shahabuddin was a close student of two Western Sufis, Murshid Samuel Lewis and Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan.

Shahabuddin brings humour, wisdom and profound attunement to his teachings. Time with him is enlivening, uplifting and practical, and often deeply transformative.

Please join us for this seminar with Shahabuddin, where we will

look at personalising our path beyond our inner and outer habit structures

Each individual is unique. Our conditioning and our habit structures often generate in us a connection with the known formal spiritual pathways that is artificial and inhibits access to our actual inner experience, as well as our access to the spontaneity that is so critical for the discovery of a true spiritual path.

focus on accessing our own inner wisdom to know what tools and knowledge we need

Many of us create an inner path that retains the imprint or influence of our body, our mind, and our ego. We do this individually, internally, and unconsciously, and it impedes or restricts our attainment of true spiritual freedom, thus blocking our capacity for a relationship with the true spiritual path.

experience our own spiritual pathway in the inner domains where God really does operate

God can only walk on this earth through us: we are the living instruments. We need to be grounded in the body, with consciousness in our feet as well as our hearts and our awareness. This is the essence of the true spiritual path.

About Shahabuddin David Less

From the Website of the Abrahamic Reunion:

David Less

US Board Chair

‘David Less is a global teacher of meditation, conflict resolution and inter-faith dialog of over forty years. For over a decade he has been the Global Dean of the Universal Worship, an organization in over thirty countries, that honors the commonality in all religions and appreciates and respects the differences. He started promoting understanding rather than blame as a path to peace in the Holy Land in 2000 and was one of the founders of the Abrahamic Reunion shortly thereafter.’

One of our great faults as human beings is to limit love to that which we can understand.
By doing so, we place our understanding above love.

_______

From Wikipedia:

He is the founder and spiritual director of Rising Tide International, an interfaith spiritual community in Sarasota, Florida; co-founder of The Abrahamic Reunion, multi-faith group of spiritual and religious leaders working together as peacemakers in Israel and Palestine; and serves as International Head of The Universal Worship,[1] a universal religion that honors and invokes all the world’s religious and spiritual contributions to humanity.

There are no walls in spirit, only doors.
The sense of spirit is clearer when it is used both as a noun and a verb.
Spirit is active, connective, creative and all-encompassing.
The very word spirit brings with it many levels of experience.
There is a saying: heart speaks to heart, spirit to spirit.

_______

From DavidLess.com:

About Universal Meditations: A Program for Quieting the Mind:

“David Less’s practical and poetic guide to meditation has something for everyone. Imagine a guide to meditation that is written so clearly that even a beginner can learn quickly, while experienced practitioners will discover beautiful new ways to get to the mind’s still point. I have found meditation to be a fundamental tool for expanding my consciousness. Peace within is the first step in the journey to peace for us all. ”

And from the biography there:

‘David Less has been teaching meditation and inner practice for 45 years and is recognized globally as a teacher of harmonious living, health, meditation and personal transformation. He is a Senior Teacher in the Sufi Order International and the International Head of the Universal Worship, an avenue for the harmonious celebration of all of the faiths of humanity without cultural or religious bias.

‘David is a founding member of the Abrahamic Reunion, a unique group of well-respected spiritual leaders in the Holy Land and beyond, acting as a living example of harmony among the world’s religions. In 1984, he founded David Less Tours, an international tour company which is promoting sacred travel and the exchange of ideas and heart connections among peoples of the world. David has practiced Sufism for all of his adult life and travels around the world sharing practices of sound, light and breath to uplift the spirit. He is the co-director of Rising Tide International.’

In practicing meditation, the heart has a greater role than the head.
Many people practice meditation to quiet the mind,
but ultimately what quiets the mind is an awakened heart.
The heart referred to is not just the physical organ but is rather a certain sensitivity
within each of us that can be enhanced through the practice of meditation.
